Typing Fast

Typing is a skill that is learned over time. The brain can pick up and remember where the fingers should go without even thinking about it. Just as I typed that last sentence I did not even think once as to where any of the letters were, they just showed up when I thought about them. This is very complex and doing it seems so weird.

Starting out it was such a challenge because the brain has to think so much. Where is the letter “s”? That alone took quite some time. Practice over time and it becomes so much easier. The best thing to do is to time how many words can be typed in one minute. When you practice so much it will end up being how fast your brain can create sentences to come up with, or words to come up with that make sense. It is easy to type words fast, but keeping the words in an order that makes sense is a true skill. Novel writers have an unbelievable ability to do this; they have a whole system set up where once they start the story going in the right direction they just can’t stop. Typing fast can burn a lot of calories off your body too. The thinking fast part helps and then the muscle engagement causes calories to burn, both work together. Walking is best, and doing other exercise is a must, but remember when you are sitting there typing away you are burning calories.
